Opel Insignia 2.0 BiTDI - Dyno test Krakow

The Opel Insignia with a 2.0 BiTDI engine is a powerful diesel unit equipped with a twin-turbocharging system, which provides excellent flexibility and high torque already in its standard configuration.
However, engines from this series have additional potential, which is why Stage 1 chip tuning allows for even greater performance improvements without mechanical intervention in the engine.

An Opel Insignia 2.0 BiTDI with a standard power of 190 HP came to our workshop in Krakow. Its owner wanted to improve the car's dynamics and achieve even better flexibility while driving.

The modification was performed on a dynamometer, which allowed us to accurately check the increase in power and torque and verify the operation of the prepared Stage 1 tuning file.

Chip tuning results – Opel Insignia 2.0 BiTDI

Before the modification, we performed a baseline measurement on the dynamometer to determine the vehicle's actual power.

Baseline result:

190 HP
409 Nm

After performing individual ECU modification, we achieved a significant improvement in performance.

Result after modification:

223 HP
443 Nm

The car gained better flexibility and noticeably stronger acceleration, especially in the mid-range RPMs, which is most often used during everyday driving.

Thanks to a properly prepared Stage 1 tuning file, the car maintains full operating culture, and the power increase is smooth and safe for the engine.

We often use such projects as case studies during chiptuning training, where we show how the process of analyzing and editing ECU maps looks in practice.

How Opel Insignia 2.0 BiTDI chip tuning works

The ECU modification process in our workshop takes place in several stages.

Car diagnostics
First, we check the engine's condition and operating parameters to ensure the car is ready for ECU modification.

ECU file readout
The original controller file is read and analyzed in specialized engine map editing software such as WinOLS, ECM Titanium, or StageX.

Tuning file creation
Based on log data and engine characteristics, an individual Stage 1 tuning file is prepared. We also distribute online tuning files for tuners and workshops.

Dynamometer tests
After uploading the modification, we perform a measurement on the dynamometer in Krakow to check the actual increase in power and torque.

Such measurements are also a very important element during chiptuning training, as they allow one to see the real impact of changes in ECU maps on engine operation.

Why is it worth doing Opel Insignia 2.0 BiTDI chip tuning?

2.0 BiTDI engines respond very well to ECU modification.

Key benefits:

significant power increase
greater torque
better engine flexibility
faster throttle response
improved driving dynamics

A well-executed Stage 1 chip tuning does not require mechanical changes and stays within safe engine operating parameters.

That is why units from this series are very often used both in tuning projects and during chiptuning training and work with ECU files.

Chip tuning Krakow – professional ECU tuning

In our workshop, we perform chip tuning for gasoline and diesel cars, and each modification is checked on a dynamometer.

We specialize in:

individual ECU tuning
creating tuning files
dynamometer power measurements
engine map optimization
ECU file analysis and editing
chiptuning training

We also create and sell tuning files for workshops and provide chiptuning training, where we show how to prepare safe Stage 1 modifications in practice.

Thanks to this, the client receives a real and verified power increase, and tuners can gain practical knowledge about working with ECU maps.

FAQ

How much power can be gained from an Opel Insignia 2.0 BiTDI?

With Stage 1 modification, the typical increase is about 25–40 HP and 30–50 Nm, depending on the engine condition and controller version.

Is chip tuning safe for the engine?

Yes, provided that the modification is performed professionally and the tuning file has been prepared individually and verified on a dynamometer.

How long does chip tuning take?

Standard ECU modification along with power measurement usually takes 3–4 hours.
