The Dacia Sandero Stepway with the 1.5 dCi engine is an economical and reliable model that is perfect for everyday use.
Although its small turbocharger does not allow for spectacular power gains, precise modification of the Bosch EDC17C84 ECU software significantly improves flexibility and dynamics in the usable rev range – especially when driving on the highway and on the highway.


Stage 1 Modification Effect

Based on measurements from the Dynomax / Dynomet dynamometer and engine log analysis, we prepared an individual Stage 1 file that provided:

Driver and modification process

The Dacia engine is equipped with the Bosch EDC17C84 (SW 020195) controller – a modern ECU with advanced control strategies for boost pressure, torque and combustion.

As part of the implementation, we performed:

  1. 🔍 Diagnostics and analysis of engine logs (boost, doses, EGT, corrections),

  2. 💻 Reading and writing ECU using the bench method,

  3. ⚙️ ECU file processing – proprietary Stage 1 file based on real measurement data,

  4. 📈 Final measurement on the Dynomax / Dynomet dynamometer, confirming the increase in power and torque.

The modification was performed within the safe factory limits , without the risk of overloading the turbocharger or injectors.
