Another project in our workshop – this time a BMW 3 Series F30 with a 2.0 Diesel engine (318d).
The factory-installed unit develops 135 hp and 317 Nm, providing ample power. After custom tuning of the Bosch EDC17C50 controller, we achieved 173 hp and 395 Nm , while maintaining complete drivetrain safety.
For customers and tuners, we also offer variants with DPF OFF and EGR OFF , tailored to the operating conditions of a given vehicle.

Modification process – reading, analysis, tuning
After full diagnostics and dynamic logging, we read the EDC17C50 controller in OBD mode.
Analysis of the torque, boost pressure and fuel injection maps allowed the creation of an individual Stage 1 file tailored to the conditions of this particular unit.
Scope of modifications:

optimization of torque and boost maps,

fuel dose correction for fuller torque from 1500 rpm,

improved throttle response and smoothness when changing gears,
-
optional deactivation of DPF and EGR (at the request of the tuner or customer).
The file was tested on Dynomax and Dynomet dynamometers, and the entire execution took about 30-40 minutes .

The result is much better flexibility in the mid-range and full torque control in every gear.
The engine runs smoothly, without smoke or sudden torque peaks. By maintaining safe exhaust gas temperature and boost pressure limits, the unit remains fully durable.

Is Stage 1 for BMW 318d safe?
Yes. The increase in power and torque does not exceed the factory limits for the turbocharger and drivetrain.
Can DPF and EGR be turned off?
Yes – at the customer’s or tuner’s request, we can prepare a variant with DPF OFF / EGR OFF with full error emulation.
Does the fuel consumption change after modification?
In the combined cycle it can be reduced by 0.4–0.6 l/100 km thanks to greater torque at lower revs.
