Audi A1 with 2.0 TDI engine - Dyno Kraków
Share
The Audi A1 with the 2.0 TDI engine is a small but very dynamic car that responds well to ECU modification.
Units from this series have a large potential reserve, which is why Stage 1 chip tuning allows for a significant improvement in performance without the need for mechanical intervention in the engine.

An Audi A1 2.0 TDI arrived at our workshop in Krakow, its owner wanting to improve the car's dynamics and increase the torque available in everyday driving.
The modification was performed on a dyno, allowing us to precisely check the increase in power and torque and verify the performance of the prepared Stage 1 tuning file.
The engine control unit in this model is Bosch EDC17C46 with number 03L906018HR, which is very popular in VAG group cars and often undergoes ECU modifications.
Chip tuning results – Audi A1 2.0 TDI
Before the modification, we measured the stock performance on the dyno to accurately determine the real power of the car.

Stock result:
135 HP
320 Nm
After performing an individual ECU modification, we achieved a very good result.
Result after modification:
178 HP
398 Nm
The car gained significantly better flexibility and much stronger acceleration across the entire RPM range, especially in the mid-range, which is most often used during daily driving.
Thanks to the properly prepared Stage 1 tuning file, the car maintains full operational smoothness, and the power increase is smooth and safe for the powertrain.
We often use such projects as case studies during chiptuning training, where we show how the process of analyzing and editing ECU maps looks in practice.
How Audi A1 2.0 TDI chip tuning works
The ECU modification process in our workshop takes place in several stages.
Car diagnostics
First, we check the engine's condition and operating parameters of the powertrain to ensure that the car is ready for ECU modification.
ECU file reading
The original controller file is read and analyzed in specialized engine map editing software such as WinOLS, ECM Titanium, or StageX.
Creating a tuning file
Based on data from logs and engine characteristics, an individual Stage 1 tuning file is prepared. We also distribute tuning files online for tuners and workshops.
Dyno tests
After uploading the modification, we perform a measurement on the dyno in Krakow to check the actual increase in power and torque.
Such measurements are also a very important element during chiptuning training, as they allow one to see the real impact of changes in ECU maps on engine operation.
Why is Audi A1 2.0 TDI chip tuning worth it?
2.0 TDI engines from the VAG group respond very well to ECU modification.
Key benefits:
significant increase in power
greater torque
better engine flexibility
faster throttle response
improved driving dynamics
A well-executed Stage 1 chip tuning does not require mechanical changes and stays within safe engine operating parameters.
This is why units with this EDC17C46 controller are very often used both in tuning projects and during chiptuning training and work with ECU files.
Chip tuning Krakow – professional ECU tuning
In our workshop, we perform chip tuning of gasoline and diesel cars, and each modification is checked on a dyno.
We specialize in:
individual ECU tuning
creating tuning files
dyno power measurements
engine map optimization
analysis and editing of ECU files
chiptuning training
We also deal with creating and selling tuning files for workshops and chiptuning training, where we show how to prepare safe Stage 1 modifications in practice.
Thanks to this, the client receives a real and verified power increase, and tuners can gain practical knowledge about working with ECU maps.
FAQ
How much power can be gained from an Audi A1 2.0 TDI?
With a Stage 1 modification, a typical gain is about 35–45 HP and 60–80 Nm, depending on the engine version and the car's condition.
Is chip tuning safe for the engine?
Yes, provided that the modification is performed professionally, and the tuning file has been prepared individually and checked on a dyno.
How long does chip tuning take?
Standard ECU modification along with power measurement usually takes 3–4 hours.
