Known for its durability and economy, it is often too relaxed to drive.
In fact, this engine hides enormous potential that can be safely exploited thanks to individual modification of the Bosch EDC16C39 ECU software .

What did we gain after the modification?

Already in series production the unit shows a slight excess of power compared to the manufacturer's declaration.
After individual tuning of the ECU (SW 10SW028687) we obtained a stable and fully safe increase:

The effect is felt immediately – the car accelerates more smoothly, responds faster to the gas pedal and maintains better elasticity from just 1,800 rpm.
By optimizing torque maps, fuel doses and boost pressure, driving becomes more comfortable without increasing fuel consumption.

EDC16C39 ECU modification process (SW 10SW028687)

The Bosch EDC16C39 controller is a classic, proven control system, widely used in Hyundai / Kia vehicles.
In this project we performed:

1. 🔍 Initial diagnostics – checking logs, injection corrections, boost pressure and EGT parameters.

2. 💻 Reading ECU file in bench mode,

3. ⚙️ Stage 1 file processing – proprietary calibration of moment maps, SOI, DOF, LDR and AFR,

4. 📈 Dynomax / Dynomet dynamometer test – confirmation of stability and effects.

Thanks to individual ECU calibration, the power increase was achieved without exceeding the factory EGT and boost limits , which guarantees full safety of the engine and turbocharger.
