The Fiat Ducato 3.0 HPI is a robust utility engine, often used in delivery vehicles, trailers and campers.
The unit based on the Bosch EDC16C39 system has great potential, but as this case shows – it is always worth performing thorough diagnostics before tuning.
Diagnostics and measurement analysis
During measurements on the Dynomax / Dynomet dynamometer, we performed three stages of testing:
1️⃣ Car with a faulty air flow meter (MAF) - lowered air values caused a loss of power and uneven engine operation.
2️⃣ After repairing the intake system and replacing the air flow meter , the engine returned to factory values, regaining stock performance.
3️⃣ After software modification (Stage 1) – the final measurement showed a clear improvement in dynamics and torque.

After the modification, the engine has become much more flexible, responds faster to gas, and acceleration under load is smooth and stable.
Thanks to the individually developed Stage 1 file, the car maintains the full durability of the drive system and accessories.

The Bosch EDC16C39 controller is a proven unit used in many Fiat / Iveco vehicles.

Thanks to this modification, not only did it increase power, but it also improved the engine's smooth operation and combustion efficiency.
Safety and durability
All changes were made within the factory EGT and boost pressure parameters.
After modification, the engine does not generate DTC errors, and the DPF and EGR systems retain full functionality (with the possibility of deactivation on request).
Regular oil and filter services keep your unit in excellent condition despite increased performance.
